Justin Bieber's Shirtless Selfies Get Matthew McConaughey-Approved

If anyone understands the nuances and etiquette of appearing shirtless in public, it's Matthew McConaughey. The actor isn't shy about showing off his toned bod, and he hopes that the frequently-shirtless Justin Bieber also remains stalwart in his decision to appear half naked anywhere and everywhere he chooses.

And while celebrities like Olivia Wilde have been critical of Bieber's decision to saunter around the world sans top, this actor is letting him know that he should just brush off all that noise.

"No, no, no, no, no... I'm not saying you've got to wear a shirt in an airport, especially, I think, he's flying private he can wear whatever he wants," he said to MTV News at the junket for "Mud," before addressing Bieber personally: "[It's] appropriate wherever you say it's appropriate. It's your shirt."

McConaughey was a little surprised that there was disapproval around the teen's bare chest, which seems to make appearances at the most unexpected times.

"Really? Well, he keeps doing it in airports right?" he added. (Might we point out the comment also proves that he's been keeping abreast of all the latest news on Bieber's shirtlessless abroad.)

Any quick scroll through Bieber's Instagram, with its myriad of candid topless shots, may prove that he's taking McConaughey's attitude before the actor even suggested it. There are multiple pics of him shirtless in the gym, hanging out by himself, an illustration of him shirtless in bed with a Belieber, and, of course, a now famous selfie of him topless in a hospital bed after being treated for exhaustion back in early March.
