Taylor Swift may have been hoping to spend her 23rd birthday attending a polo match with her new beau or holed up in a stately home - however it was a much less classy British tradition Harry Styles treated her to.
The One Direction ladies man took her to his local Chinese takeaway joint in Holmes Chapel, Cheshire.
And while the mop-haired crooner seemed delighted with his choice of birthday fare and grinned for a picture, a haughty looking Swift looked like she'd rather be elsewhere.
After a few days of visiting pretty Cheshire villages and making locals swoon with their wholesome togetherness it seems Harry, 18, now wanted to show his new lady what a real British lad does on a Friday night after a few pints.
The picture was tweeted by a local lad and friend of Harry's on Friday, around the same time Taylor was leaving the UK which suggests it was taken on her birthday itself, it was accompanied by the caption: 'Just casually finding Taylor Swift in the chinese.'
As the pair, who got together only a few weeks ago in New York, waited for their order the restaurant owner obviously wanted in on the Haylor-fest and must have asked for a snap.
And while Harry beamed - probably also at the thought of the feast to come - Swift looked like she couldn't wait to escape and sat awkwardly with her hands foldeed in her lap.
The country turned pop star also looked slightly confused - as if she couldn't quite work out why they were there.
The Chinese takeaway outing comes after Harry drove for two hours to take Swift to the George and Dragon Hotel in Great Budworth, Cheshire, and previously spending the day in picturesque Bowness on Windemere in the Lake District.
While there the clean-cut couple played with swans and bought stuffed toys.
And despite the somewhat unglamorous environs of a takeaway joint Harry did reportedly buy Swift 23 cupcakes, a Jimmy Choo bag and jewellery, among other things.
Swift's strained face may because she is too used to the high life with her string of high profile ex boyfriends.
During the summer she was spotted on a luxury yacht with her last squeeze Connor Kennedy, 18.
Swift dated the esteemed teen, who is the son of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and the late Mary Kennedy, for a few months and even crashed a Kennedy wedding with him but the pair broke up amid rumours she was becoming fanatical about his illustrious family.
'She was more obsessed with the idea of dating a Kennedy, than the actual Kennedy she was dating,' a source told Radar Online.
However their short fling was filled with WASPy shenanigans including spending time at the Kennedy family home in Cape Cod, Massachusetts.
Swift also dated Jake Gyllenhaal in 2010 - who is eight years older than her - and Taylor Lautner in 2008.
Her and Lautner, 20, were often spotted at swanky parties together or cruising round in the Twilight actor's Porsche, looking completely besotted.
Swift has also been linked to John Mayer and Joe Jonas, who between them have a net worth of more than $50 million dollars and homes all over the world.
She flew to Germany from Manchester airport and Friday and according to sources Harry was seen out and about with his friends just a few hours later.
