One Direction injured by out-of-control fan; girl scratches Liam Payne's arm

The security might have been increased for One Direction's trip to America, but that did not help Liam Payne avoid injury on Saturday. A Chinese burn was given to One Direction's Liam Payne as he made his way through Heathrow airport, towards his car, in London. It may be called a Chinese burn, but the photo that Liam Payne posted to Twitter showed a painful scratch on the skin surface. Saturday news by TVNZ explained what happened.

Hopefully the fan had clean fingernails, the thought that fans could do this, even accidentally is unthinkable. Liam Payne seemed to take it in stride, but it doesn't appear that One Direction members understand mob mentality. The fans in the parking lot were excited and whenever the fans gather in excitement, that excitement seems to escalate as the boys appear in sight, it can be witnessed over and over in the videos of the boy's appearance. Appealing to some of the fans to calm down is a good idea, but it is doubtful if all the right fans will hear the message.

Liam expressed concerned that they can't meet with fans because of safety issues and yet the fans are not controlling themselves. It isn't the fault of One Direction that the security is pulling them back out of harm's way. Liam's post was retweeted 31,990 times:

"I don't know why people are blaming us for this it's so sad: (when everyone's rushing and make it unsafe we get thrown back in our cars."

"That was actually horrible I literally wanted to cry and all those people shouting s*** at us and we even tried to stop so s***."

"Lol I just looked at my arm that's what happens when somebody pulls at your skin too hard #crazyday pic.twitter.com/fe52JHAv""The awkward moment when a girl gives you a Chinese burn in the airport aha"

Liam wants fans to calm down, hopefully the cooler heads will prevail or security will come up with an alternative plan for touchdowns. Liam may have regained his sense of humor quickly - but the message on Twitter via Liam Payne was very clear. When the world tour begins the eight months of travel should not be miserable for the One Direction band members.
