Taylor Swift Wants You To Help 'Restore The Shore'

Although Hurricane Sandy has passed, the destruction and devastation left in her wake continues to make life very difficult for people in the most heavily affected areas. MTV is helping raise awareness and funds for those affected by the storm via "Restore the Shore," a live benefit event with nonprofit organization Architecture for Humanity that airs this Thursday, November 15, at 11 p.m. ET.

We've enlisted some of our favorite celebrity friends to help us spread the word about the importance of the event.

"As a kid, I spent my summers at the Shore, and I have so many amazing memories for that time in my life," said recent triple EMA-winner and performer Taylor Swift. "So I'm sending all my love and support to all the people in New Jersey who suffered through Hurricane Sandy. It's time to restore the Shore."

MTV's own "Jersey Shore" castmembers will be a big part of the "Restore the Shore" efforts, as they gather in Times Square on Thursday with other celebrities to ask viewers to contribute to the rebuilding and restoration of their show's former home base, Seaside Heights, New Jersey.

"New Jersey, and especially Seaside, is just destroyed," "Shore" star Vinny Guadagnino told MTV News recently, days after Sandy hit. "I've never had anything like this happen to me. I know every business owner on the boardwalk personally, you know, and, like, they're good people, they all are hard-working people."
