They're the type of lads who wouldn't mind joining the daring club made famous by amorous pilots, flight attendants and passengers alike.
But the only action One Direction wanted to enjoy at that altitude was some duvet action.
Although that may not have been the case for Harry Styles.
Whilst Liam Payne tweeted photos of his pals all tucked in, Harry tweeted a close up photo of himself with an unknown blond girl in what looks like the cockpit.
The girl planted a big kiss on Harry's cheek, who seemed to enjoy the show of affection.
Certainly the girl's identity will be of interest to his seven million twitter followers, and interestingly the picture is no longer on Harry's Twitter feed.
But odds are it was a playful gesture made by a flight attendant, pilot or even one of One Direction's crew.
Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan on the other hand displayed affection more of a brotherly nature.
As the boys sat with their hoods up, clearly the air conditioning on the plane had dropped the temperature to a cool level.
But that wasn't enough for the lads who topped and tailed under a thick duvet and blanket to give them additional warmth.
The scene was too cute to not share with their millions of fans so Liam Payne tweeted these photos.
First he posted the solo shot of Louis with the caption, 'Are you comfyy enough broo.'
Then he followed with the two shot of Louis with Niall and the phrase 'Sharings caring.'
Zayn was not pictured during the flight, but one can assume he was tucked up in the corner somewhere catching forty winks.
The boys were returning from Milan after performing on Italy's version of The X Factor.
In typical boyband fashion their outfits followed a matching colour pattern - this time a palette of burgundy, blue, black and white.
After the performance, Harry, Zayn, Liam, Louis,and Niall dressed in casual attire for their photo call at The Principe di Savoia Hotel.
All of the boys wore jeans for the occasion with Niall and Louis opted for blue ones, while the rest of the boys wore black.
Zayn's hair featuring it's new blonde quiff looked immaculately styled and he chose to wear a sheepskin lined denim jacket.
Harry clearly wasn't feeling the cold and wore just a burgundy coloured T-shirt.
He completed his very relaxed look with two necklaces and watch.
Despite their casual look clothes-wise, the band looked rather made-up, in particular Zayn who appeared to be wearing a touch of guyliner.
Earlier in the week Louis, Liam and Zayn got into the Halloween spirit for a night out.
A picture was tweeted of Louis and Zayn sticking out their tongues while doing the rock sign with their fingers.
Zayn appeared to be dressed as The Joker from Batman with his face and hair painted white.
Louis had recreated the famous makeup worn by Kiss - white face paint with a black star over one eye.
Another image was tweeted of Louis and Liam at what appears to be a party.
Again Louis is sticking out his tongue, while a dressed down Liam grins at the camera with a drink in his hand.
Their album Take Me Home is scheduled for release on November 13.
