MORE than 50 Beliebers are lining the perimeter of The Olsen Hotel on Chapel St, South Yarra where they hope to catch a glimpse of their pop prince today.
Tarsha Mohan, 18, was one of the fans who braved the cold this morning, using her school holidays to try and see Justin Bieber in the flesh.
Celine Hutchinson, 18, said she was hopeful of spotting Selena Gomez, with rumours Bieber's girlfriend has accompanied him on the three-day promotional tour for his latest album, Believe.
Most of the die-hards are preparing to head towards Southern Cross Station later today as they follow Bieber's movements across the city.
The superstar is scheduled to record two of his hits for Australia's Got Talent from 1pm today.
Fans Melinda Modica, 15, Hayley Cochrane, 15, Crystal Nicholas, 12 and Kasey Nicholas, 16 said they had stalked Bieber at the hotel from 10am to 6pm yesterday and waited since 7am this morning to spot their idol.
"We don't know whether he's inside (the hotel) or not, but we haven't seen him leave," Melinda said.
"We're thought we might have seen him come close to one of the windows though."
The mob could be heard this morning down the Chapel St precinct chanting "Justin" and "Baby", one of his most famous tracks.
A lucky few fans were delighted when the teen pop idol emerged from The Olsen Hotel yesterday afternoon.
The star made a brief appearance at the front of the hotel to sign autographs and pose for photos.
But other fans missed out as they had gathered at the Langham Hotel in Southbank to try to see the pop idol after an unconfirmed tweet that he was staying there.
Hundreds of girls were chanting “We want Justin!” and waving up to the window of a suite at the five-star hotel.
They jumped on trains from around suburban Melbourne after Twitter rumours surfaced that the 18-year-old was returning to the same hotel that he stayed in during his visit to Melbourne last year.
Langham sources said Bieber was not staying with them this time, but his fans were undeterred, saying they would wait all day.
Riana, 16, of Sandringham, rushed to the city with her friend Isabel two hours to see Bieber.
“We will wait here as long as it takes,” she said.
“We are going to tag team to get food, so if he does arrive at least one of us will have seen him.”
Isabel said she was desperate to see her idol.
“The last time he was here I was on school camp so I didn’t get to go to his concert, I cried for a whole month,” she said.
“I’m not going to let that happen again.”
Bieber will be in Australia for three days to promote his new album Believe.
Security is on lockdown with Bieber's record label Universal offering few details about the trip, which will include appearances on Australia's Got Talent, Sunrise and Channel [V].
Teenagers across the country have taken to Twitter to express their excitement, while the paparazzi is poised to pounce on Bieber as soon as he touches down in Australia.
"Guys it's really happening, after over a year Justin is coming back! Omg!" one fan Tweeted.
"10 hours and Justin is in the same country as me! Cannot contain my excitement ATM!!!!!" another fan wrote on the social networking site.
Last time the Canadian star visited in April 2010 it was pandemonium. A planned free concert, put on by the Seven Network's Sunrise program at Sydney's Circular Quay, was cancelled due to overcrowding.
As hordes of teens surged forward, things got so dangerous that Bieber pleaded with them to go home.
The television network is taking no chances this time, promising beefed up security to safeguard Bieber's Sunrise performance on Wednesday morning.
