As host for the ceremony, Demi Lovato obviously put plenty of thought into her wardrobe. However it seems she didn't quite check the view from all angles.
The 19-year-old singer looked sleek in a feathered minidress by Falguni and Shane Peacock number.
But as she posed hand on hip on the pink carpet, the US X Factor judge revealed rather too much at the awards show which is targeted at a younger audience.
The singer's dress had a sheer mesh panel at the side which managed to protect her modesty, however, it was obvious that she had chosen to go braless under the heavily embellished frock.
Demi smiled gamely, seemingly unawares of the fashion faux pas as she channelled the futuristic warrior princess vibe in the canary yellow and silver dress, topped off with a fierce ponytail.
The singer's legs looked endless in the thigh-skimming metallic number as she posed on the pink carpet ahead of the show at Universal City's Gibson Amphitheater. .
She has spoken about her honour at being asked to present the 14th annual extravaganza Teen Choice Awards alongside Glee co-star Kevin McHale.
She may have had some special help, however, as the formerly troubled starlet revealed she 'saged' her family before making her appearance.
The process involves warding off evil spirits by sprinkling 'sage' over your home or friends and family.
But while Demi's appearance was undeniably victorious, it was perhaps tinged with sadness as her former best friend, Selena Gomez, stayed away from her.

But just 365 days later, Gomez - who was celebrating her birthday - was bonding with Taylor Swift instead.
Lovato admitted to Perez Hilton that the friends aren't as close as they used to be, but that Gomez will always have a 'special place in her heart,' if not on her arm.
Interestingly enough, she still follows the former Wizards of Waverly Place star on Twitter while Gomez does not follow her.
Lovato wasn't going to let it ruin her big moment however, and tweeted earlier today: 'Turn to FOX tonight at 8pm for the 2012 Teen Choice Awards! Follow TeenChoiceGirl on Instagram for red carpet pics and more! #TeenChoice
She then added: 'I am so excited to host Teen Choice Awards...See you soon. Can't wait to whip my hair back and forth!!!'
She later changed into a white shirt with a daring white split down the front mid way through the two-hour long awards show.
She teamed the outfit with a lemon yellow sash and dark skirt with fringing detail, along with a gold necklace and oversized earrings.
Last but not least, the former Disney star plumped for an edgier black leather look, with a black jacket and tight mini skirt.
She let her blonde hair down loose over her shoulders revealing the blue dipped ends as she accepted her own award for Choice Female Summer Music Star.
