Demi Lovato is not down with casual drug references. Britney Spears still has a thing for white rappers. Chris Brown's being audited, community service style. And Courtney Love is being sued again. Music news, here we go.
• Demi Lovato is the family-friendly enforcer on the set of The X Factor, it seems. The ex-Disney star, who has admitted to using drugs and alcohol when she was in her teens, reportedly kicked out a rap duo at the show's Greensboro, North Carolina auditions on Tuesday after they dropped a street drug reference during their performance.
According to TMZ, Lovato took offense to the line "I'm high on bath salts." Before she dismissed the performers, she reportedly admonished them about their lyrical content: "It's really inappropriate to rap about drugs in front of kids."
Lovato famously checked into rehab in 2010 after a physical altercation with a backup dancer. Since her release from treatment in early 2011, she's made a point of being open and honest about her battles with an eating disorder and substance abuse. We wouldn't be entirely surprised if producers had encouraged Lovato to monitor contestants for exactly this kind of behavior — it does make for great television.
