Stars like Kristen Stewart and Miley Cyrus have been linked to the role of Anastasia Steele in the upcoming movie adaption of Fifty Shades of Grey, but Selena Gomez has ruled herself out of the running claiming that it would be “a little too much”.
The 19-year-old recently starred in a 50 Shades parody, but talking to MTV, Selena has revealed that while she’s enjoying pushing the boundaries – there’s no way that she could play the college student in the erotica adaptation.
In the best-selling novel, Anastasia hooks up with S&M lover millionaire Christian Grey but the part isn’t for Bieber’s girlfriend Selena.
"I know I’m taking risks but I don’t think I could do that,” she said of the saucy role.
“That would be a little too much for me.”
Of her Funny Or Die skit, Selena revealed that she hadn’t read the book before, so she decided to give it a read and though that it was “intriguing”.
“When they told me about the skit, I didn’t know what [the book] was about, so I started to read it and was like, oh, this is spicy, I thought it was good, it was intriguing,” she added.
“The skit was really funny.” Of who she thinks should play the role, Selena said: “Someone older should do that part.”
