With record sell-outs posted for their 2012 trek, pop rockers One Direction have added even more dates to their 2013 summer itinerary, which was announced early in response to strong ticket sales this year.
Since last check, the young British boy band has added another 11 shows to next summer's North American outing. The latest dates include second nights in Wantagh, NY (6/28-6/29); Hershey, PA (7/5-7/6); Toronto (7/9-7/10); and Las Vegas (8/2-8/3); among others.
The outfit, comprised of Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson, sold out their 2012 summer run in minutes, as well as a Dec. 13 performance at New York City's Madison Square Garden in under 10 minutes.
One Direction's inaugural U.S. headlining trek begins May 24 in Fairfax, VA, and ventures through major markets across the continent through early July. An early 2013 European trek is also on the schedule.
The group, which placed third on the seventh season of Britain's "The X Factor," released its full-length debut, "Up All Night," overseas in November via Simon Cowell's Syco Music, while U.S. retailers unveiled the album in March through Columbia Records. The effort, which was the fastest-selling debut album on the U.K. Albums chart last year, topped The Billboard 200 and peaked at No. 2 on the U.K. Albums chart.
