Justin Bieber has admitted that it is tough to be a role model for so many young people.
The 'Boyfriend' popstar opened up about "bad decisions" and personal failings during a chat about his life and career with Sweden's TV4.
"You know, there's a lot of people that look up to me and I'm not always gonna be perfect," Bieber explained.
He added of his past regrets: "At the end of the day I'm 18 - sometimes you've gotta make bad decisions to learn from them."
Bieber also suggested that he keeps "good people" around him in the hope of always staying humble.
"I think it's all about who you surround yourself with and keeping all those good people close to you. And having those people telling you not to be full of yourself," he said.
The singer recently shot down rumours that he is engaged to girlfriend Selena Gomez, explaining that he is "too young" to tie the knot.
Bieber has also announced that his 'Boyfriend' music video will premiere on MTV on Thursday (May 3).
His third studio album Believe is released on June 18 in the UK and June 19 in the US.
