One Direction will play Nationwide Arena on June 18, 2013. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday, via livenation.com, the Nationwide Arena ticket office, Ticketmaster outlets, and charge at (800) 745-3000 or ticketmaster.com.
One Direction gained notoriety in 2010 after appearing on “The X-Factor” in the United Kingdom. Their debut album, “Up All Night,” entered the charts at No. 1 in 14 countries and has been certified triple platinum in Ireland, double platinum in the U.K. and Australia, and platinum in New Zealand.
One Direction are Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson. All of the group hail from the U.K., save for Horan, who is from Ireland. All five young men (ages 18-20) auditioned for the “X Factor” in 2010 as solo artists. At the suggestion of Simon Cowell, they joined forces as a group, finishing in the final three.
