Carly Rae Jepsen outsells Justin Bieber in singles chart

Call Me Maybe spends second week at number one.

Carly Rae Jepsen's debut single has now sold more than 100,000 copies in the UK and becomes the second fastest-selling single this year behind DJ Fresh Ft. Rita Ora's Hot Right Now.

According to the Official Charts Company, Call Me Maybe outsold Justin Bieber's new single Boyfriend by two to one, which enters the chart in second spot.

But Bieber has in some ways helped Carly Rae Jepsen's success by tweeting his appreciation of the former Canadian Idol contestant and posting a spoof video on YouTube of Call Me Maybe with Selena Gomez, Ashley Tidsdale and Big Time Rush.

Gotye's former chart topper Somebody That I Used To Know remains in third, while Usher's new single Climax enters the chart in fourth. Nicki Minaj's Starships completes the top five.

Other new entries this week include American band Fun with We Are Young Ft. Janelle Monae in seventh spot, Sway's new single Level Up at eight, while Breathe Carolina's Blackout debuts at 21.

Jessie J's Laserlight Ft. David Guetta enters this week at 26, John Legend's Ordinary People debuts at 27, while Alex Clare's Too Close reaches 37.
