Selena Gomez has something to be thankful for.
Thomas Brodnicki, the starlet's alleged stalker, continues to be locked up on a 5150 psychiatric hold at a county hospital, LAPD Det. Jose Viramontes tells E! News.
As a result, Brodnicki did not appear in court this morning to argue against the restraining order that prohibits him from coming within 100 yards of Gomez.
However, Judge William Stewart expressed concern today that Brodnicki may be denied his right to due process by not being able to appear at the hearing and defend himself.
"It's a basic due process right and the court isn't satisfied as he has been granted that right," Stewart said.
Gomez's attorney, Blair Berk, informed the court that Brodnicki has had ample opportunities to contact the court and ask for a continuance. While efforts were made to grant a three-year restraining order, the judge ultimately decided to just extend the temporary restraining order until a hearing could be held on Jan. 6.
On Oct. 13, Gomez filed for the restraining order against Brodnicki, who allegedly admitted to his therapist that he has had conversations with God about killing the Wizards of Waverly Place star.
