Nick Jonas Admits He Can't Handle The Fame

With screaming fans following you day and night, it's clearly going to take its toll, and for pop star Nick Jonas, it can get 'pretty intense'.

At the weekend (5th-7th August), the Jonas brother made his debut performance as Link Larkin in a new production of Hairspray at the Hollywood Bowl, joining cast members John Stamos, Darlene Love and Corbin Bleu. But it was Nick who attracted most of the attention, with his admirers screaming every time he stepped onstage.

He admitted to Eonline.com that he had to think of escape routes from the building because crowds would gather outside the stage door every night: 'It's pretty intense. Too much sometimes...sometimes I just try another way out, any way out'.
The Jonas brothers are currently taking some time out to concentrate on other projects, with Nick working on musical theatre.

Nick's girlfriend Delta Goodrem, impressed by his Hairspray performance, took to Twitter to praise him: 'Congratulations to the cast of Hairspray at the hollywood bowl. Magical! Blown away by @nickjonas performance. He was the perfect Link'.

Although he can't seem to handle the hordes of screaming girls, the Jonas brother, polite as ever, thanked them for their support: 'I want to say a huge thank you to all my amazing fans who came to see me in Hairspray from all different parts of the world. Love you guys! The Hairspray experience was amazing. Going to bed feeling so blessed and honoured to have played Link'.
