Taylor Swift dots it up while out in New York City on a rainy Friday afternoon (May 2).

Just last week, the 24-year-old musician was seen out with good friend, actress Hailee Steinfeld.

“I always get the ‘Tell us something nobody knows [about Swift] question,” Hailee opened up in the May 2014 issue of Nylon about their friendship. “And it’s like, we both respect each other tremendously, but we choose to keep our friendship out of the public eye. She’s a really great person and an inspiration to me and many others.”

Hailee Steinfeld keeps it cool in a backwards cap on the cover of Nylon magazine’s Young Hollywood May 2014 issue, on newsstands now.

Here’s what the 17-year-old actress had to share with the mag:

On her friendship with Taylor Swift: “[She is] an amazing friend.” “I always get the ‘Tell us something nobody knows [about Swift] question. And it’s like, we both respect each other tremendously, but we choose to keep our friendship out of the public eye. She’s a really great person and an inspiration to me and many others.”


On if she is a regular teenager: “Yes. I am…Yes. I am…Yeah, absolutely…It is about being honest. People live different lifestyles, and I always find an equivalency: If I’m filming or going to and audition it’s [the same as] my friends going school or dance class. I think everyone lives the same way and encounters the same sort of life.”

On her alternate career paths: “I’ve always thought it would be really cool to work in a restaurant or at a coffee shop or something. And I think, ‘Maybe I’ll go do that.” And then it’ll be written into a script or something…And so that’s my opportunity.”
