Drake Bell Speaks Out About Justin Bieber Feud

Former Drake & Josh teen star Drake Bell has established himself as a credible musician, most recently with his Brian Setzer-produced album Ready, Steady, Go!, which features several of his co-penned originals along with covers of classics by the Kinks, the Move, Queen, Billy Joel, and the Stray Cats.

But these days, Drake frequently makes the news for his outspoken criticism of a current teen star, Justin Bieber — often ending up on the receiving end of a barrage of Twitter hate from irate Beliebers. But Drake makes no apologies for speaking out about the behavior of Justin and his most outrageous fans.

"I was scrolling through my Twitter feed one day, and somebody had tweeted me a picture of Justin Bieber that had been Photoshopped with makeup or something," Drake tells Yahoo Music, explaining how the feud began. "And I thought it was funny and so I hit retweet — I just retweeted a tweet — and all of a sudden, the remarks were coming in. My fans are all pretty cool, you know; I've never really seen anybody fighting on Twitter, no death threats, no harsh language, no gay slurs, nothing like that. But when I hit retweet on this tweet, the floodgates were open: death threats, slurs.

"And I'm assuming they're all his fans, so they've gotta be, what? Twelve years old? Ten years old? So it's like, 'My God, where are your parents?' So I started kind of just retweeting some of the ones that were really harsh and saying, 'Hey guys, this is not how we should talk.'"

From that moment on, Drake has had to deal Justin's angriest fans… which made Drake question how Justin interacts with his impressionable young following. Speaking about a "Cut for Bieber" Twitter trend (which was later revealed to be a hoax), in which fans were tweeting photos of what appeared to be girls carving Justin's name into their arms to protest his drug use, Drake has issues with the fact that Justin never spoke up. "I'm like, man… silence. Silence. Wouldn't you [if you were Justin] come out and be like, 'Hey guys, I made a mistake, but this is not how to handle it'? Make a self-harm campaign? Do something? But he's very irresponsible, in my opinion, as far as his fans go."

Drake also cites Justin's response to criticism he received from the Black Keys' Patrick Carney last year as an example of his irresponsibility. "With Patrick Carney, Justin says, 'Oh, he should be slapped around.' Well, he just told 40 million little kids: 'Hey man, when someone says something, go beat him up.' Dude, just be like, 'Ha ha ha, love your music, Black Keys, peace out!'"

Drake, now 27, explains that his desire to speak out comes from his own experience as a child star who grew up in the spotlight. "You know, we didn't get into this business to be role models. We got into it to express ourselves artistically," he admits. "But it comes with the territory. I've been in this business for a long time, I've been doing this for 22 years, and I've always had a young fanbase. And they've been able to grow with me. I think someone with like Justin, it's so quick for him that he maybe hasn't seen what I've seen.

"I mean, I'm very close with my fans. I'm very involved with my fans, so I've seen the influence that I can have on a child or on the mind of somebody. And I'm fanatical with the people that I look up to. So I know that if I ask someone for an autograph and they go, 'Hey, don't bother me,' how crushing that is to me. So yeah, I just think that we didn't get into it to be role models, but there definitely is a responsibility we need to take… We're going to be human and we are going to make mistakes, but you really should understand the power that you have and embrace it in a positive way."

Justin Bieber Vs. Drake Bell: ‘Bitchcraft’ Visits Alleged Sins Of The Father On Son

Justin Bieber’s crashing of Drake Bell’s album release party last week after two years of one-sided bullying by Bell, saw the former Nickelodeon actor reach a new low over the weekend when he tweeted Bieber with a tabloid story claiming his father, Jeremy, allegedly kicked a then-teenage girl over a decade ago.

After Justin Bieber’s masterclass crashing of Drake Bell’s album release party last Thursday, it seems Bell cannot take what he has dished out to Bieber for over two years and in recent interview rants, without hitting below the belt to retaliate.

Less than 24 hours after Bieber pulled up in a Sprinter van outside Bell’s party at Mixology at the Grove, Los Angeles, and was mobbed by hysterical fans, Bell fired back at the Canadian using a just surfaced — but old — allegation claiming Jeremy roundhouse kicked a teenage girl in her face and broke her jaw 12 years ago.

On Saturday, Justin – no doubt aware of MailOnline’s original report – tweeted:

“I love you pops @jeremybieber. You’re a great father and my best friend.”

To which, his father replied, “@justinbieber ty. I am a better man because of you. #love #family.”

No prizes for guessing what came next. After clocking the Biebers’ online exchange, Bell tweeted:

“@justinbieber @JeremyBieber um…,” and added a screenshot of the alleged assault story titled “Justin Bieber’s Father, Jeremy, Drunkenly Kicked a Teenage Girl, Breaking Her Jaw and Leaving Her Unable to Eat.”

Drake, 27, deleted the tweet quickly after posting, but the eagle-eyed folks at Gossip Cop caught it.

The alleged assault story Bell linked to, detailed a claim that Jeremy broke Alicia Wadden’s jaw after kicking her in the face back in 2002.

The incident is alleged to have taken place in Stratford, Canada, when Wadden was just 18-years-old.

Alicia told Mail Online that Jeremy was drunk at the time and allegedly attacked her after she responded to his alleged unwelcome, sexualized comments to “lift up her skirt” by hitting him in the face.

Wadden claims she filed charges against Jeremy after Stratford police pressurized her. She alleges Jeremy gave her boyfriend $1000 the night before Jeremy’s trial, also passing on an instruction that she shouldn’t testify. Alicia describes the cash as a “bonus” and that she had no intention of testifying at the time.

As a result, Mail Online claims the trial was dismissed.

The Inquisitr notes that it’s not known whether Wadden’s claim is wholly true, true in part, or completely false.

MailOnline says it saw a copy of Alicia’s police statement but didn’t reproduce it on its site. However, Jeremy was convicted of an assault in an earlier 1997 case, then convicted of two probation violations two years later, before he was charged with assault in a 2004 case that was later dismissed.

In addition, from recent postings on Jeremy’s Twitter and Facebook accounts he appears to be aware that the alleged assault story is out — but hasn’t challenged it. In the past, he has criticized inaccurate media claims.

After Bell’s tweet and delete, Justin’s fans rallied online and accused Drake of going too far in his obsession with Bieber.

Naturally, Drake’s fans disagreed.

At the time of the Jeremy’s alleged assault against Wadden, Justin was eight-years-old and living with his mother, Pattie Mallette, back in Stratford. Although she and Jeremy separated when Justin was 10-months old, he remained a presence in his son’s life and is referred to glowingly in Justin’s interviews.

Since Bieber shaded Bell at his album release party, Drake has attempted to downplay the snub, telling Fox 11:

“There’s no war. There’s no real beef or anything like that.”

Referring to a now infamous Instagram snap that Justin somehow posted (then deleted) after crashing Bell’s bash, which showed Drake on a balcony at Mixology watching Bieber’s fan-mobbed van, Bell added:

“I was changing my clothes [at the time], I didn’t know he was there,” he said. “That pic [that Bieber posted on Instagram] is actually as Justin was leaving.”

That actually seems to be untrue as we got hold of video of Bell, all changed and clambering atop a balcony to watch Bieber.

It can’t have been unclear who was in the van due to fans’ screaming Justin’s name, as can be heard in numerous videos.

In conclusion: our takeaway of Drake Bell, the self-declared “role model”:

On July 3, 2012, Bell claimed his Twitter account was hacked after he described Katy Perry as “ridiculous” for making an autobiographical film Part of Me. Fast forward to April 2, 2014, and Drake claimed his BuzzFeed slams of Ariana Grande were misquotes by the website.

We’re sensing a theme.

In Bell’s world, he gets to tantrum two years of insults and put-downs of Bieber, retweet Seth Rogen’s post calling the singer “… a piece of s_t,” previously urge his own fans to sign the Bieber deportation petition, and latterly describe the “Baby” star as “repulsive” among other choice adjectives to BuzzFeed.

But the one time Bieber responds with a no-casualty prank, instead of reflecting with a 27-year-old’s perspective and saying: “Fair enough I’ll give you that Biebs, I asked for it and it doesn’t begin to compare to the mocking I’ve dealt you for years,” Drake’s response was to attack where he knows it will hurt on a profound and painful level.

“Bitchcraft,” indeed.

Drake Bell Says Justin Bieber "Tried" to Crash His Album Release Party, Adds "There's No Real Beef"

Drake Bell wants to make something clear—Justin Bieber "tried" to crash his album release party.

The 27-year-old star spoke out about what happened at his event at Mixology at The Grove last night during an interview with Fox 11 News. "I don't think there is anything going on between us," Bell told the news anchor when asked what's going on between him and the Biebs.

"I think I've joined with most celebrities and have said a couple of opinions on there [Twitter]. I don't think the Beliebers have liked it very much," he added.

He also mentioned that Bieber never actually crashed the album release party, but Bell said he tried, though added that the event was 21 and over.

"I was changing my clothes [at the time], I didn't know he was there," he said. "That pic [that Bieber posted on Instagram] is actually as Justin was leaving."

The Biebs chauffeured van drove by the front entrance of the venue where Drake's party was taking place—causing fans to rush to the car in hopes of seeing the pop star. At one point, the "Beauty and a Beat" singer rolled down the windows of his ride and shook hands with the crowd of screaming Beliebers.

Bell went to see what was going on, a photo of him looking at the crowd was posted by Bieber with the caption, "Why is @JustinBieber sprinter van getting more attention than my album release party."

Drake tweeted, "Dude! Thank you for coming to my party I didn't know you were down stairs sorry they didn't let you in!! Should have hmu!!"

Despite their constant back and forth, Bell told Fox 11, "There's no war. There's no real beef or anything like that."

Drake Bell advises Justin Bieber to make better choices for the sake of his fans

Drake Bell is encouraging the Biebs and other pop stars to better themselves.

"There's just a lot of really young, entitled people," the former star of Nickelodeon's "Drake & Josh" told BuzzFeed in a recent interview.

"I don't think a lot of these young people have to work very hard. They're found on YouTube and, boom, thrown into the studio so they think they can get anything they want."

"I can't stand that, with a lot of the pop stars, there's this idea of, 'Are you in our clique? Are you a Direction-er or are you a Belieber?,'" Bell, who promoted the petition around the time of Bieber's Miami DUI arrest to have him deported, said.

"I don't understand it," the 27-year-old actor continued.

"And what's worse is artists like Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber don't come out and say, 'I love having you as my fans, but you shouldn't be acting this way.' They just eat it all up and I think it's repulsive."

"Justin Bieber just tweets, 'Yeah, Beliebers, go hard' when they're attacking somebody. Ariana Grande's fans told Perez Hilton that he and his son needed to die and get cancer, and she just fed it. It's disgusting."

"If I catch one of my fans saying something improper, a gay slur or any derogatory term, I instantly tweet directly at them and say, 'This isn't how we do it,'" Bell said.

The star explained to BuzzFeed how he handled the pressures of young fame.

"A lot of artists try to run away from that fanbase so quickly, but I would rather have my audience grow with me than to suddenly turn my back on them because I'm an adult now, because I take my clothes off, smoke weed and f--king drive fast cars," he said.

"We didn't sign up to be role models, but we are," he said.

Bell continued to stress stars like the 20-year-old Bieber and Gaga have so much impact on their fans and they should make better use of it.

"Artists like Justin Bieber or Lady Gaga have more sway over popular minds than a politician. They could get on a pedestal and say, 'This is how you should treat people,' but instead (Bieber's) going around telling kids that as long as you have enough money and swag, you can do whatever you want," he said, bashing the "baby" singer.

"Instead of working to change the world, (he's saying,) 'Work to get as much money and power as possible because then you can do whatever you want and no one can say anything to you.' I just think that's a gross, awful, terrible message."

Drake Bell Challenges Justin Bieber To Be ‘Better,’ Forgets Two-Year Bashing

Drake Bell is back on the Justin Bieber bashing it seems. Dusting himself off after filing for bankruptcy in February, he has returned to promote his April-dropping new album and his new animated DVD, and he appears to have decided to push a revisionist version of his Internet history to do it.

Speaking to Buzz Feed, the former star of Nickelodeon’s Drake & Josh 2004-2008) not only comes after Bieber, but drags Ariana Grande and Lady Gaga into the fray.

“There’s just a lot of really young, entitled people,” he says.”I don’t think a lot of these young people have to work very hard.”

“They’re found on YouTube and — boom — thrown into the studio so they think they can get anything they want. Ariana Grande is a billionaire before she’s been an artist. You have to work to be able to appreciate what you have, and what work did she ever have to do in her life?”

Bell’s take on 20-year-old Grande — who debuted on Broadway at 14 in the musical 13, then as Nickelodeon’s Cat Valentine in Victorious before spinoff Sam & Cat, topped the Billboard 200 album chart with her critically acclaimed debut Yours Truly last September, won out as New Artist of the Year at the 2013 American Music Awards, and recently scored the Favorite TV actress blimp for Sam and Cat at this year’s Kids’ Choice Awards — seems particularly misplaced.

Taking selective aim at not only Grande, Bieber and Lady Gaga, but strangely leaving out the notoriously melodramatic One Direction and Michael Jackson fans — likely because neither the late legend or the boyband have yet incurred the wrath of Perez Hilton, who is a personal friend of Bell’s? — the 27-year-old slams the rise of fandoms.

“I can’t stand that, with a lot of the pop stars, there’s this idea of ‘Are you in our clique? Are you a Direction-er or are you a Belieber?,’“ Bell says.

“Oh, you’re not in our gang? Then you’re not cool and you need to go in a hole and die,” he laments, bizarrely concerning himself with the antics of kids.

He adds, “I don’t understand it. And what’s worse is artists like Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber don’t come out and say, ‘I love having you as my fans, but you shouldn’t be acting this way.’ They just eat it all up, and I think it’s repulsive.”

Strong words. But, aside from the fact that it’s not only kids who take advantage of the free speech badlands also known as the Internet — Shia LaBeouf, Kanye West, Alec Baldwin, Perez Hilton, Rob Kardashian, and Chris Brown being notable offenders — for reasons best known to himself, Bell doesn’t mention his own Internet trolling.

Bell, who was described by J-14 magazine in January as the “Biggest Celebrity Bully of All Time” — they include a Twitter timeline of his history of insults — has for two years engaged in juvenile, unilateral goading of Bieber and his tween to teen Beliebers. A curious pursuit for a man of nearly 30 who aspires to “role models” Jackson, Billy Joel and Paul McCartney.

The nadir of Bell’s ongoing antagonism towards Bieber seemed to climax when he urged his three million Twitter followers to sign a “We the Petition” demanding the forcible deportation of Bieber dubbing his efforts a “movement.”

“I’m all about unity and loving your neighbor,” Bell insists without irony, adding, “I just think it’s so much more rewarding and important to go around the world and bring people together, as opposed to pushing people away.”

Of Grande — who, at the age of ten, co-founded a South Florida youth singing group “Kids Who Care,” which performs at charity events and raised over $500,000 in 2007, then taught music and dance to kids in South Africa with the Broadway organization, and is now working with Kleenex on its “Shield Sneeze Swish” campaign — Bell comes at the songstress for not policing her fans’ attacks on Hilton after he accused her on February 17 on Twitter of taking cocaine.

The blogger tweeted then deleted: @ArianaGrande Are you okay? I heard someone saw you doing cocaine at a party this weekend. Stay away from drugs, Ariana!!!)”

Bell’s take on his friend Hilton’s allegedly slanderous, public and damaging accusation?

“Ariana Grande’s fans told Perez Hilton that he and his son needed to die and get cancer, and she just fed it. It’s disgusting,” he says.

Apart from the fact that it’s unrealistic to expect artists to control the conduct of kids online, Bell conveniently leaves out the fact that it was Hilton who kicked off the allegedly unfounded cocaine slur and may be sued by Grande according to Gossip Cop and Celebuzz.

While threats against anyone, but especially children are deplorable, it’s also well known that Hilton trades in a particularly toxic brand of shock-tactic Internet conduct to generate traffic.

“We’re told the star [Grande] is so anti-drugs that she’s even afraid to take over-the-counter medication like Tylenol.

Music insiders speculate that the cocaine allegations may be a ‘vendetta’ by Perez, who allegedly tried to be Grande’s manager. He ‘approached her and got rejected,’ says a close family confidant, who feels his attacks against her and her fans are ‘personal.’

That’s just sad and pathetic on Hilton’s part.”

Ambitiously name-checking Elvis Presley, The Beatles and Jackson as the role models he emulates, Bell later omits the impressive outreach work Bieber puts in with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Pencils of Promise, the Whitney Elementary School, and the over $3 million he raised with his #GiveBackPhilippines campaign for the Typhoon Haiyan-hit nation — not to mention the millions directed back to charities through a $1 levy on the singer’s Believe tour tickets.

Bell counters: “Artists like Justin Bieber or Lady Gaga have more sway over popular minds than a politician.”

“They could get on a pedestal and say – ‘This is how you should treat people’ – but instead [he's] going around telling kids that as long as you have enough money and swag, you can do whatever you want.’” Bell adds: “I just think that’s a gross, awful, terrible message.”

Of course, Bieber, with his ongoing legal woes is an easy target. But Drake doesn’t get any prizes for selectively editing out the singer’s past and present #giveback contribution.

Don't Mess With Justin Bieber! Milk Tyson Defends Him, Threatens Nickelodeon Star After Rude Twitter Remarks

Drake Bell dissed Justin Bieber again and this time a Belieber came to Justin's defense!

"Hey @justinbieber how much are you paying Lil Za to take the coke wrap for ya? Be a man and take responsibility. Learn to be an ADULT!" Drake tweeted after Justin's police raid incident Tuesday morning.

"@justinbieber instead of egging speeding around your neighborhood and defacing property like a little sh** you should practice your guitar!!" he added.

Of course, Justin's fans saw the former Nickelodeon star's tweets and went off on him. The Belieber he ticked off the most was Justin's good friend Milk Tyson! No, not the professional boxer Mike Tyson, although he's good pals with the Biebs too.

"@DrakeBell tweeted from the elephant bar in la Mirada. He's no longer there. They said his shift was over," Milk wrote.

"Just want to talk @DrakeBell call me."

Drake shot back pretty quickly posting, "haha actually just a quick bite after Disneyland...What do you do again?"

Tyson replied, "You sure seem to have a crush on jus you talk about him enough @DrakeBell stop being a bully bro it's a bad look. I don't twitter beef. Talk."

"um....not mad. just responding," Drake tweeted back.

Tyson didn't seem like he was ready to give it a rest he continued posting and basically put Drake to shame.

"Blah blah blah I don't talk tough on twitter @DrakeBell & I do love my brother, that's why 1 day you'll answer for your bully s--t," he wrote.

"Call me when you want to stop hiding behind a keyboard and talk like a man @DrakeBell."

The former star shot back, "um....nope not in love with him like you sorry."

In typical Bieber style, Milk requested his fans to find out Drake's phone number and address and post it online...and they did!

This isn't the first time Drake's had beef with Justin. He's posted about him being talentless before and even called his fans "the worst most insane fans in the world!!"

If you recall, Justin's friend Lil Za was arrested on Tuesday after police raided the singer's house and found cocaine in his possession. Lil Za was then arrested again, on the same day, for breaking a phone inside the jailhouse.

Drake Bell Slams "Talentless" Justin Bieber on Twitter, Feels the Wrath of the Singer's Friends and Fans

Drake Bell is at it again.

The Drake & Josh star reignited his longstanding feud with Justin Bieber via Twitter on Wednesday, Jan. 15. The actor and former Splash competitor, 27, used the social networking site to blast the pop star, 19, for allegedly egging his neighbor's house late last week.

Police raided Bieber's L.A. home on Tuesday, Jan. 14, to look for evidence and video surveillance footage that could potentially link him the incident. Rapper Lil Za was arrested and charged with felony drug possession, which was "in plain view." Law enforcement officials originally believed they found cocaine, but later told reporters that it was MDMA, a form of ecstasy commonly referred to as "molly."

Bieber was not charged with drug possession, but Bell accused him of owning the illegal drugs. "Hey @justinbieber how much are you paying Lil Za to take the coke wrap for ya? Be a man and take responsibility. Learn to be an ADULT!" he tweeted. "@justinbieber instead of egging speeding around your neighborhood and defacing property like a little s--t you should practice your guitar!!"

Bell has since deleted the tweets. He later shared a picture of Bieber's graffiti art and tweeted, "When is someone going to tell this idiot he can't draw. His art is almost as bad as his music. Talentless artless."

The "Hold Tight" singer didn't respond to the tweets himself, though his BFF Milk Tyson stood up for Bieber via his own Twitter account. "@DrakeBell tweeted from the elephant bar in la Mirada. He's no longer there. They said his shift was over," he wrote. "Just want to talk @DrakeBell call me."

Bell replied, "haha actually just a quick bite after Disneyland...What do you do again?" Tyson fired back, "You sure seem to have a crush on jus you talk about him enough @DrakeBell stop being a bully bro it's a bad look. I don't twitter beef. Talk," he tweeted. Bell replied, "um....not mad. just responding." Tyson didn't seem satisfied with the actor's answer. "Blah blah blah I don't talk tough on twitter @DrakeBell & I do love my brother, that's why 1 day you'll answer for your bully s--t," he wrote.
"Call me when you want to stop hiding behind a keyboard and talk like a man @DrakeBell."

The "Terrific" singer then told Tyson, "um....nope not in love with him like you sorry." At Tyson's request, Bieber's fans found Bell's alleged phone number and address and posted it online. "Drake Bell called Justin 'talentless' - says the guy who started from the bottom, but is still there," one Twitter user sniped.

Bell dissed his pop peer on at least three separate occasions in 2013. In one instance, the TV star made fun of Bieber's height and told the singer that he has "the worst most insane fans in the world!!"
