Miley Cyrus-Starring 'Big Bang' To Become Film: 5 More Music Vids Deserving Of Movie Treatment

Music from the motion picture? Not this time: In a bizarre twist on the usual order of things, news cropped up today that Miley Cyrus' retro-fab video for Rock Mafia's "The Big Bang" (also co-starring "Gossip Girl" actor Kevin Zegers) will likely become a feature-length film in the near future, making it one of the first ever movies based on a music video.

Hey, makes sense: We've been salivating over the potential of videos' petite plotlines and concise character arcs ever since the three-minute romance between a girl and her comic book in the video for "Take On Me." And if this is how it works now, we've got five more music videos we'd like to see stretched out to feature length.

1. "You Belong With Me" by Taylor Swift

The setup for Taylor's country-pop hit, in which a band geek struggles with her unrequited love for the popular jock, is the perfect treatment for a fluffy teenage romance. Even better: Add in the fact that Taylor plays both the pining geek and the bitchy cheer captain, and you've got the potential for "Black Swan" levels of weirdness.

2. "California Gurls" by Katy Perry

In a post-apocalyptic fantasy world, a lavender-wigged Katy tries to negotiate a terrifying candy landscape and overthrow an evil, omnipotent dictator played by Snoop Dogg. Sounds like a movie to us! Sort of like "Sucker Punch," but with gummi bears.

3. "Oops!...I Did It Again" by Britney Spears

There's definite film-worthiness in the concept of Britney as an evil Martian queen who lures unsuspecting astronauts into her lair, cons them into giving her extravagant jewelry and then cruelly rejects them via interpretive dance... but really, we just want to see Brit-Brit put on that red latex jumpsuit again.

4. "Telephone" by Lady Gaga ft. Beyoncé

Who wouldn't want to see more of the backstory behind Lady Gaga's awesome video? There are so many unanswered questions—like, why did she poison those dudes? And where'd she get the Pussy Wagon? And what kind of Thelma-and-Louise weirdness is going on between her and BeyoncĂ©? And where is this incredibly fashionable jail, and if we commit an awesome enough crime, can we go there?!

5. "I'd Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That)" by Meat Loaf

It's an oldie, but you can't beat the setup: a classic Beauty and the Beast conundrum, with Meat Loaf as the (vaguely Klingon-looking) Beast. We'd love to see this musical drama come to life on the big screen—preferably in the hands of Michael Bay, who directed the original video. And maybe, just maybe, a feature-length film will answer the question on everyone's mind: He'll do anything for love, but he won't do... WHAT?! Seriously, tell us already. It's been 17 years.

Miley Cyrus Working On 'Big Bang' Film

Back in November, Rock Mafia's Tim James revealed to MTV News that plans were being formed to turn the sexy clip for their tune "The Big Bang" into an even-sexier movie starring its video girl, Miley Cyrus. Now it seems the project is well under way.

E! News reports that Miley's mom, Tish Cyrus, has been meeting with Suzanne Todd — a producer on films such as "Alice in Wonderland," the "Austin Powers" films and "Memento" — to turn the music video into a full-length feature. Sources tell the website Miley is looking to reprise her role to pick up where her ghostly character left off. There's no word yet if Kevin Zegers will return to the project.

Rock Mafia's Antonina Armato tweeted about the project, for which her team would reportedly help write the script. "Just had a Meeting with Tish Cyrus and Suzanne Todd for 'Big Bang' To be made into a Movie!!! #fingerscrossed," she tweeted Monday. A rep for the group did not respond to MTV News' request for more information by press time.

Armato said the film will be "epic." Regarding the "Big Bang" music video, James gave props to Miley and Zegers for their turn as star-crossed lovers.

"The whole idea was to do something different," he explained. "[The director] had such a cool vision for it ... the vision was to let it fly, let the chemistry speak for itself. When we were watching them shoot it, we were like, 'Wow, this is going to be really cool.'

"Kevin and [Miley] both brought their real acting game to it. ... The chemistry is not by accident. You can feel it, and it's intense," he continued. "I'm really proud of both of them."

Miley Cyrus' 'The Big Bang' Video Might Become Movie

Car crashes. Sexy make-out scenes. Ghostly visions. To sum it up, Miley Cyrus and Kevin Zegers got our hearts racing when they appeared as lovers in Rock Mafia's video for their retro-tinged track "The Big Bang." And, when MTV News spoke with Tim James, who sings the vocals on the track that his team, Rock Mafia, helped create, he teased there might be a bigger plan in the works.

"They're actually talking about a movie. I'm excited about that too," James dished. "There's a couple of producers putting together story lines and stuff. That's really exciting."

And, he says there's talk of Miley and Kevin starring.

As for the idea that Rock Mafia score the flick — that is, if Hollywood Crush can help broker the deal — James exclaimed, "Now you're really talking! Now you're making my day!"

Miley herself offered to appear in the video, which has fans' tongues wagging, for the production team who worked with her on "Can't Be Tamed," "Who Owns My Heart" and "See You Again."

"The whole idea was to do something different," James explained.

And, he's just as proud of the song itself. "I wish they grew on trees," he joked. "I wish I had 100 of them like it. It's really a special record. We wanted to do something that was classic, that felt like an old vinyl from the '70s that nobody ever heard. It was an experiment in that aesthetic."

As for working with Miley, James has one thing he wants everyone to know: "There's nothing manufactured with that girl!"

"It's weird 'cause [the Miley in the video] is like the Miley that I'm used to hanging out with," he said. "So, it's cool that this [video] can give her a good look that I think has been underused.

"I'm stoked for her. She comes by the studio a lot and just jams with us — that's my favorite. She's so dope. People need to know it. What she can do is cool, so I'm really excited to let people see her artistic side. As she keeps growing, she's going to do cool stuff. She really is her own person."

Rock Mafia's 'Big Bang' Which Feat. Miley Cyrus on Its Video Revealed

Rock Mafia's debut single "The Big Bang", which features Miley Cyrus on its upcoming music video, has come out for listening pleasure. It's a drum-driven song and will have its anticipated video debuted next month on November 1.

Beside having Miley, "The Big Bang" music video will also see Kevin Zegers playing opposite the Disney star. In a sneak peek unveiled earlier this month, Miley is involved in a car crash, and Kevin who plays a parking attendant witnesses the accident.

In addition to the horrific scene of car crash, the video will still explore romance between the two characters. Of the make-out scene he did with Miley, Kevin admitted it was "weird" because they each had their real-life love interests on set that day. "She's ... just a beautiful young woman sort of roaming around," he praised her. "It's definitely not raunchy in any way.

Miley Cyrus Nervous That Fans Won't Buy Her New Album!

The Release of Can't Be Tamed is still weeks away, but Miley's already worried it's going to bomb. Should she be worried, are you planning on buying her new album?

Miley Cyrus has been giving interviews 24/7 in support of her new album Can't Be Tamed, which comes out June 22. She told Access Hollywood, "I hope people buy it, if not I had a good time making it...I'm really proud of it. I'm excited, I'm anxious."

Considering that Miley Cyrus has a legion of devoted fans all over the world, she really shouldn't be too worried. And forget about the negative press she's gotten lately because of her sexy new image, any publicity is good publicity. Her new style and direction has also been the subject of many interview questions this week, but Miley refuses to back down.

"Girls are immediately going to say, ‘Oh, she’s trying to sell sex,’ Well, I love Zac Efron, but what’s he selling? He’s gorgeous, he’s hot, I don’t go see his movie because I’m like, ‘He’s such a fantastic actor.’ He’s a great actor, but he’s hot. He’s just not in a leotard with his legs out. He has his shirt off. So what’s the difference?...For girls, it’s always going to be harder."

Can't Be Tamed doesn't hit stores for over a week, and until then you can expect to see Miley's beautiful face wherever you go. Should Miley be worried? Are you planning on buying the new album?

Miley Cyrus – ‘Can’t be Tamed’ Early Release

The official site of Miley Cyrus dropped an announcement yesterday letting her fans know that her latest album, Can’t Be Tamed, will be released earlier than previously announced. Previously set to be release on July 22nd, it will now actually be released a day before, getting jump on the traditional Tuesday album release day. Cyrus has been the subject of much discussion regarding her performance promoting the new album, which also introduced a new look and tone to the star of Disney Channel’s Hannah Montana series. Since the debut of the video of the first single (als called ‘Cant’ be Tamed’) debate about Miley has been a popular subject among fans and detractors. Cyrus doesn’t seem to care much (nor should she) if we can take her appearances on Dancing with the Stars and Britain’s Got Talent. She also seem quite confident in images we’ve seen of her performances in Paris, Spain, and the UK.

Over at BSCkids we brought you the preview to the ‘Can’t Be Tamed remix’, which also features Lil John. The album is available for pre-order now.

Kissing Miley Cyrus For Her New Video Was 'Weird,' Kevin Zegers Says

'Big Big Bang' kiss was 'stranger than it normally would be' because Liam Hemsworth and Zegers' girlfriend were on the set, actor reveals.

This week, stills from Miley Cyrus' latest video — for her song "Big Big Bang," off her June album, Can't Be Tamed — made their way online. In the photos, she's seen cavorting around downtown Los Angeles with actor Kevin Zegers. But Zegers says that having to kiss Cyrus for the video wasn't as fun as it sounds.

"Liam [Hemsworth] was there, and he seems like a very, very nice man, and my girlfriend, who actually works with Miley, was also there, so it was actually a lot stranger than it normally would be sort of making out with somebody on set," Zegers told MTV News. "Normally they don't really know the people in your life, but Miley knows my girlfriend quite well actually, and I got to meet Liam. These things are very weird."

Zegers says that the video, most of which is a dream that his character has, is going to have some action scenes. "[My character is] a parking attendant and he sees Miley's character drive by and he sort of goes into a dream sequence, which is a majority of the video," he revealed.

"And then something dramatic happens at the end. It's not all the making out, but there's a car accident at the end. So there were a lot of stunts."

For the clip, Zegers rocks a neck tattoo that he jokes was probably an effort to make him appear "more badass." But if fans are expecting the video to show a bawdy side of Cyrus, he says that isn't the case at all. "She's ... just a beautiful young woman sort of roaming around.

It's definitely not raunchy in any way," he explained, adding that the real-life Cyrus is just as clean-cut. "She's very polite and well-raised, which is a rarity for someone in her position. I think she's a total sweetheart."
