5 Seconds of Summer Disappointed by Harry Styles? Plus, a 5SOS and 1D Collaboration?

Turns out 5 Seconds of Summer is very disappointed in Harry Styles. And we don't blame them. You see, when they toured with One Direction before, Harry pulled a naked prank (which involved throwing fruit, go figure). This tour? No nude Harry. Sadface.

The 5SOS guys recently dished about it with Live From MTV, with Ashton sadly reporting, "No naked Harry Styles, which is a bit disappointing," adding, "It's a decrease in nudity on the tour this year." We feel your pain.

Nudity decline aside, the 5SOS guys have enjoyed some other perks of being on tour with 1D, as Ashton explained, "We got to go to Europe for the first time and without them [One Direction], we would have never gotten to meet some of the fans, so that was incredible. There's a few more people singing along to our songs, which is nice. That's just a beautiful thing."

As for a One Direction and 5 Seconds of Summer collaboration, don't count on it. Calum explained, "We are two completely different bands," while Luke added, "We might write with them at some point. If we were going to do a song it'd be with someone that's cool and up-and-coming."

5 Seconds of Summer Cancel Tour Dates With One Direction: They're Performing at VMAs!

There's some bad news and some good news from 5 Seconds of Summer. First, the bad news: they've canceled more tour dates opening for One Direction. So, if you're planning to see 5SOS with 1D in St. Louis or Dallas, you're out of luck (boo).

The good news? 5SOS landed an amazing gig. We know what you're thinking – better than being the opening act for One Direction? They'll be performing at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards on August 24, which is such a huge deal and will get them even more exposure. It's a good thing.

We know it's a bit bittersweet though for those 5SOS fans that were planning to see the guys at one of those dates, but trust us, the MTV gig is a huge get. We're so proud. Sniffle.

The band tweeted the exciting news, writing: "HELLO, we have some awesome news to tell you....
were performing at the @MTV VMAs in August! to be asked & given this opportunity's incredible, we cant be more excited about it :D #5SOSVMAs"

They added: "this means we need to cancel our #WWAT supports in Dallas & St Louis :( were sorry if u were hoping to see us but we'll have more news soon!"

TOP PICK: 5 Seconds of Summer Celebrate New Album at Virgin Radio in Paris

5 Seconds of Summer perform some of their songs off of their new album during a visit to Virgin Radio in Paris, France on Thursday afternoon (June 26).

Just before their set, the guys — Calum Hood, Michael Clifford, Ashton Irwin, and Luke Hemmings — headed out to the balcony to see a massive crowd of their fans (see the video below!).

“Can’t explain how much this album means to us.. I just hope you like it that’s all,” Ashton tweeted of the release in Australia. “If you’ve actually got the album that’s so cool, feels good that me and the boys aren’t the only ones to have it now lol.”

TOP PICK: 5 Seconds of Summer Following One Direction's Lead? 5SOS Movie in the Works?

Is a 5 Seconds of Summer movie in the works? While we know 5SOS hasn't quite reached One Direction heights yet, we wouldn't count out a film featuring the band in the not-so-distant future.

Luke told The Daily Star (via MTV), "We'd love to make a film. To be honest we shot so much in those two days making our vid we could've made a feature film out of it already."

So...make it happen, right?

An insider commented, "It's only a matter of time before the band end up in cinemas as they are already huge on a global scale. I can see a 5 Seconds movie having more of a narrative like The Beatles films."

We'll be ready with our popcorn. Don't make us wait too long.

5 Seconds of Summer Cancel One Direction Tour Dates: What Happened?

We've been so consumed with the One Direction and 5 Seconds of Summer song mashup, this 5SOS news turned our high into an epic low. Bummer for those 5SOS fans who were planning to see them open for One Direction's tour – they've had to cancel some of their dates.

The cancellation only impacts a few dates, so there's some good news/bad news there, plus there are two awesome bands filling in: McBusted and D.A.M.A. Not too shabby.

Still, we know some 5SOS fans that are planning to go to the shows in Copenhagen and Portugal on June 16, 17 and July 13 are going to feel the burn. Why did they have to cancel?

5SOS released a statement apologizing for the cancellation, which explains nothing, really, so we hope everything's okay. Here's the rundown:

"Due to unforeseen circumstances we have had to cancel our support sets on the 1D Tour for Copenhagen on June 16th/17th and Porto on July 13th :( McBusted are now going to be playing in Copenhagen and D.A.M.A will be opening in Porto, so it's still going to be a wicked bunch of shows!

We are really sad we can't make it and are very sorry to any of our fans who were looking forward to seeing us... We really hope to be able to come back to perform and see you all very soon! We love you. - Ash, Mikey, Cal & Luke x"

McBusted, meanwhile, tweeted: "AWESOME NEWS!! We've just been invited to support @onedirection on their 2 Copenhagen dates on 16th & 17th June next week! Gonna be rad!!"

Liam Payne Confesses He's A Little Jealous of 5SOS

Liam Payne steps out in a crisp shirt for a night out at Mahiki Club in London on Sunday (May 18).

Speaking with the Sunday Telegraph (via Daily Mail), the 22-year-old One Direction singer praised Aussie band 5 Seconds Of Summer and admitted he was a bit jealous of them too!

“They are f***ing great musicians. I am a bit jealous of them,” he shared. “I am working on learning to play now but I wish I had put the time in like they did when they were kids.”

Liam added, “They are so massive right now. It’s huge getting to play stadiums at their age. It couldn’t happen to a nicer band.”
