Idina Menzel Opens Up About Working With Ariana Grande on 'A Hand For Mrs. Claus'

Idina Menzel keeps it cute in a feathery bell skirt during her Holiday Playlist Performance held at the Apple Store in New York City on Thursday night (December 12).

The -year-old singer has been promoting her new album, Christmas: A Season of Love.

The new record actually features a “feminist” new holiday song that Idina sings with Ariana Grande – and it was actually written by the Frozen songwriters, Bobby and Kristen Lopez.

“I asked…if they would write me an original song for this album,” Idina started to explain of how the track came to be. “Kristen came back and she said, ‘Okay, I’ve written you a song, but it’s a feminist Christmas song. It’s called how about, ‘A Hand For Mrs. Claus?’ And I was trying to find a duet partner for it because I thought it should definitely be more than just one woman singing that.”

She adds that she feels very “lucky and grateful that Ariana Grande found the time in the middle of her tour to sing this song with me.”

“It was such a blast. She did such a great job. I’m a huge fan of hers. I met her when we were doing Wicked reunion show. She’s just the sweetest and what an incredible talent.”
