Ariana Grande and Lil Nas X are leading the year!
The 26-year-old “7 Rings” singer’s Thank U, Next is the most popular album in the U.S. in the first half of 2019, according to Nielsen Music via Billboard on Thursday (June 27).
Ariana earned 1.55 million equivalent album units in the first half of 2019. It was Ari‘s fourth No. 1 on the Billboard 200, and opened with 360,000 equivalent album units upon its release in February.
As far as songs, Lil Nas X‘s viral hit “Old Town Road” dominates as the most streamed song of 2019. All versions of the song have combined to earn a whopping 1.338 billion on-demand streams since its release.
It’s also the only song to exceed one billion on-demand streams so far in 2019.
