Niall Horan explained: "I think we just felt like the schedule with the way it's been for the last five years...it can get quite hectic. We just felt like it was the right time..."
Niall added, "We just felt like it was the right time to just go and chill for a bit, not have our lives planned out and scheduled."
He explained that they just need that time without somewhere to be, alarm set every day, etc. We totally get it.
The One Direction guys also offered up a bit of a confirmation for just how long that break will last - we've heard between one and two years, so Louis Tomlinson diplomatically picked something in between, saying, "Let's say 18 months."
