Harry Styles Most Popular Fanfiction Subject, Larry Stylinson Most Shipped

New York Magazine's Vulture recently took a dive deep into the world of fanfiction with an extensive review of the genre - but all we could focus on was the discussion about One Direction and Larry fanfic. There's a ton of interesting info to explore, with Vulture explaining, "fanfiction - amateur fiction based on characters from preexisting works or real-life celebrities - has lately become a force driving popular culture."



Vulture compiled statistics from Wattpad data, and discovered that Harry Styles was the top subject of fanfic, followed by the remaining members of One Direction and then the guys of 5 Seconds Of Summer. Other popular celebs making the cut of the "top 25 celebrity fanfiction 'castings'" included Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift, to name a few.



The most popular fanfiction fandoms included One Direction fans, who eclipsed the others making the list, including 5SOS, Harry Potter and Frozen.



But there's one infographic in particular that caught our eye - a roundup of the "Most Popular Ships," with a cutesie heart surrounding Larry Stylinson (popularity was explained as "ranked by number of times the ship was tagged in a Wattpad story"). Note that Ziall (Zayn and Niall) and Narry (Niall and Harry) also made the list.



Of course, Anna Todd's After, featuring a Harry Styles character, gets a mention. Her Wattpad fic earned her a six-book deal.
