It’s official – Sam Smith has been added to the performance roster for the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards !
The 22-year-old British singer will take the stage that night to sing, as will previously announced performers Taylor Swift , Beyonce , Ariana Grande , and more.

“I have watched the VMAs every year since I was a kid,” Sam said in a statement. “I am so insanely nervous but also so honored to be performing. This truly is a pinch yourself moment for me.”
The 2014 MTV Video Music Awards air live from the Forum in Inglewood, Calif on Sunday, August 24 @ 9pm ET/PT on MTV!
