1D's Harry Styles goes into biker mode as he zips through the streets of Los Angeles on his trusty chopper

It's become apparent that he favours getting around on two wheels whenever he's in California.

One Direction heart-throb Harry Styles was back to his old tricks when he was seen riding through the upscale Los Angeles neighbourhood of Brentwood on his trusty chopper on Tuesday.

Wearing a shiny, black helmet on his ride, the 20-year-old singer slipped by largely unnoticed as he zipped around.

But his trademark style and and distinctive tattoos served as clues for those with a keen eye.

With his eyes hidden behind a pair of tinted sunglasses, Harry donned a grey t-shirt, black skinny jeans and a brown pair of his signature Chelsea boots.

His biking trip through town appeared to be far more successful than his outing in March, when his motorbike broke down in nearby Pacific Palisades.

Harry tried to hide his identity by refusing to take off his helmet while he waited for help, although he eventually removed it once a rugged roadside recovery worker arrived to give him a ride back to West Hollywood.

Harry has been enjoying some downtime in the US, where he touched down on Monday.

The star and his band-mates are currently on a short break as their mammoth Where We Are stadium tour reaches its halfway point, with their next show taking place on August 1 at Rogers Stadium in Toronto, Canada.

Fans will be able to relive the band's world tour with the release of a concert film which is to be screened in cinemas around the world.

The heart-throb quintet were filmed as they performed at the San Siro Stadium in Milan, Italy, and the show will be seen at more than 10,000 screenings across more than 50 territories in October, in what is said to be one of the biggest cinema events of its kind.

The group's new film, One Direction: Where We Are, will be screened over the weekend of October 11 and 12 and is expected to enjoy similar box office success to their documentary hit This Is Us which was released last year.

The forthcoming release - which includes Simon Cowell among the executive producers - also includes a 15-minute interview and behind-the-scenes footage from the concert.

Band-member Zayn Malik said: ‘The Where We Are tour is coming to a cinema near you for one weekend only.’

Tickets for screenings go on sale from July 28.
