Most people tend to put on weight when they're happily ensconced in a relationship, eating out regularly and overindulging in rich, calorific restaurant meals.
But not Joe Jonas and his model girlfriend, Blanda Eggenschwiler.
Having recently got back from vacation in Hawaii, during which both kept up their fitness routines with plenty of exercise on the beach, the couple enjoyed a decidedly healthy meal out at West Hollywood hotspot Kings Road Cafe on Monday.
The 24-year-od and his lady love of 16 months are clearly a good influence on each other, seen tucking into hearty salads and sipping on iced water during their low-key outing, with the only 'treat' being a cup of coffee for the singer.
Joe looked rather dressed up for the lunch date, clad in dark blue pants, black sneakers and a long-sleeved two-toned grey shirt that was button all the way up to the collar.
The former Disney star was sporting a small amount of facial hair and intermittently shielded his eyes behind dark shades.
His 29-year-old girlfriend was rocking an edgier look than usual, dressed in a short, tight navy skirt, a matching blue and black plaid shirt, sheer black stockings and chunky black lace-up heeled boots.
She also slipped on a black blazer as the couple headed off to the car following their meal despite the warm weather.
The stunning brunette wore her long ombre locks down in a sleek, straight style, with a heavy fringe covering her forehead, while she appeared to be donning very minimal, bronze make-up that enhanced her natural beauty.
While the pair had quite the animated conversation during lunch, Joe wasn't able to give Blanda his full attention, as he frantically typed away on his mobile phone.
The star is currently taking some time off, after his band The Jonas Brothers officially parted ways in October after months of speculation, citing a 'deep rift'.
Joe was quick to shoot down rumours that the split had anything to do with his partying, telling People: 'It's ridiculous! We're not saying anything for two or three weeks and I'm a drug addict!
'It's obviously not true,' he continued. 'I've never touched heroin in my life. Neither has my girlfriend.'
