'One Direction Are A Marketing Product': James Arthur Denies Slamming Fellow X Factor Stars

James Arthur has denied slamming One Direction as nothing more than a "marketing product", after a fan of the boyband claimed he was branded a "moron" for supporting the group.

Tyler Lee claims that last year's X Factor winner was "abusive" to him in an online rant, but James has refuted his claims - calling Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik and Liam Payne "great lads".

When Tyler told James that he thought the quintet were the show's biggest succes to date, the 'You're Nobody Till Somebody Loves You' singer is quoted as hitting back: "One Direction don’t sell records they are a marketing product. They sell t-shirts and dolls you moron."

Speaking to The Sun, Tyler responded: "“It was very abusive. He called me a moron and a loser.”

Approached for a response, James denied the row took place - saying: “I have nothing but respect for 1D. They are great lads.”

James is having to make a habit of denying peoples' stories about him, and over the weekend he countered one girl's claims that he made her uncomfortable with some pretty full-on cyber-flirting.

Ayesha Gillespie said she was thrilled to be tweeted by the singer, but quickly felt uncomfortable. She told The Mirror: "I couldn’t believe that he’d got in touch like that. I was running round the house screaming and showing my phone to my mum and older sister. My mum thought that it was hilarious and my sister was dead jealous.

"He asked me where I was from and what I was up to. I told him I was lying in the sun, relaxing. He then sent: '#showyourboobstojamesarthur'. It was a bit of a shock but I laughed it off to begin with."

Slamming her allegations, James tweeted: "I have 4 sisters and its disgusting they have to read such s**t.. I won't be working with any publication who writes this kinda c**p #LOVE".
