Demi Lovato has spoken out on her pal Lea Michele, gushing that she is so proud of her friend who tragically lost her boyfriend Cory Monteith to a drug overdose this summer.
Demi and Lea have been spending a lot of time together recently as the X Factor judge shoots scenes for her upcoming role in Glee. According to Demi, Lea is doing incredibly well following Cory's death, and has been throwing herself back into work, filming for the fifth season of her hit show;
''She's great. She's such a strong woman and I'm so proud of her. Love her so much," Demi told Access Hollywood.
Demi's Glee storyline will see Naya Rivera's character Santana get a love interest played by the X Factor USA star. Speaking about the storyline, Naya who recently posted a picture of herself posing with Demi on set, told Latina magazine recently:
"There are very few ethnic LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender), characters on television, so I am honoured to represent them. I love supporting this cause, but it's a big responsibility, and sometimes it's a lot of pressure on me."
Demi has added her praise to the storyline, revealing to Access Hollywood:
''I think it represents where our society is today. It's becoming the norm and I'm really glad that I get to represent that -- how far we've come. You know, 15 years ago you wouldn't have seen that on TV, but now people are becoming more comfortable with it.
''I'm glad that I get to represent that, and also, just hopefully inspire people with my character to love who they are and accept who they are and not give a crap what other people think.''
