Demi Lovato has announced that 'Neon Lights' will be the next single to come from her fourth LP, and has appeared to confirm that a music video is on its way very soon indeed.
The star changed her Twitter and Facebook profile pictures to a new logo for the song, revealing that something special is on its way on Sunday, September 29, at 6pm EDT.
'Neon Lights' was written by OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder, along with Mario Marchetti, Tiffany Vartanyan, Noel Zancanella and Lovato. Tedder and Zancanella shared production duties.
The announcement comes as Demi's two-year-old song 'Skyscraper' continues an unexpected second wind in the UK. The song was performed by Hannah Sheares on The X Factor on Sunday night, and it has since ascended to a new peak of No14 on the British iTunes rankings. Wednesday's official midweek chart data put it at No17.
The song was released as a single in the US in July 2011, with a UK release eventually coming in February 2012. The track peaked at No32. Earlier this year she scored her most successful UK release to date with 'Heart Attack', which landed at No3.
Demi, the album from which 'Neon Lights' is lifted, secured Lovato's highest single-week sales when it was released in May, however it remains her lowest-selling LP to date on overall figures. Its latest single 'Made In The USA' struggled to find its footing on both sides of the Atlantic, so her camp will no doubt be hoping that this third single can inject fresh life into the campaign.
