It's rare for Simon Cowell to bite his tongue, and now that the woman he's having a baby with has settled her messy divorce, the X-Factor judge is speaking out on his impending fatherhood.
"I'm proud to be a dad," he told the BBC at the London premiere of This Is Us.
When originally asked by reporters about the pregnancy, he kept mum, saying "a lot of people's feelings are involved."
Indeed. The 53-year-old is expecting a child with Lauren Silverman, who was still married to a friend of Simon's. Her husband Andrew accused Simon of adultery in the original divorce filing, although the couple was supposedly separated.
"It's something I hadn't thought of before, but now I know I feel about good," Simon explained. "Things are changing in my life right now, for the better."
Back in 2009, Simon claimed he didn't want kids. "God, no, I couldn't have children," he said at the time.
We're glad he's changed his mind about daddy duty!
