Jonas Brothers sign worldwide licensing deal with Universal Music Group

Jonas Brothers have signed a worldwide licensing deal with Universal Music Group that will cover the release of the trio's fifth studio album.

The group - who recently released the as-yet-untitled album's lead single Pom Poms - inked the new agreement with UMG that excludes the US but includes catalogue recordings for both group and solo albums.

The new LP, produced by Nick Jonas and released under the band's own label Jonas Enterprises, is said to blend sounds from pop, rock, classic R&B, techno and dance genres.

Jonas Brothers have sold over 20 million records and achieved over 40 gold and platinum certifications. They said of the new licensing deal: “We are really excited about this new chapter in our career and looking forward to working with the team at Universal Music to deliver our music to a global audience.

Andrew Kronfeld, president, Global Marketing, Universal Music Group International (UMGI), commented: “The Jonas Brothers are part of the pop music industry’s bedrock and we’re delighted they’ve chosen us to support their welcome return.”

Max Hole, chairman and CEO of UMGI, added: “We are very pleased to welcome the Jonas Brothers back to Universal Music. Our teams loved working with them in the past and look forward to helping them to a major success with their new album.”
