Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth are ‘working through’ their ‘serious’ problems following temporary split

Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth are reportedly ‘working through’ their ‘serious’ relationship problems following speculation that they have split.

The 20-year-old actress and 23-year-old actor had been rumoured to have called off their engagement leading to Liam fleeing LA to be with his family in Australia earlier this month.

However, with the actor now back in LA, he and Miley are reported to be trying to work on their relationship.

A source told E! online that the two ‘genuinely love each other’ and are committed to getting their troubled relationship back on track.

The source said: "There are some serious problems going on, but seeing them together, they do genuinely love each other and they really do want to work it out."

And it seems that Liam’s decision to move back home to Australia was in fact a bid to save the relationship.

The insider added: "His trip to Australia was a way for them to figure out what they wanted to do and have time to think for themselves."

Problems for the couple emerged in February when it was alleged that Liam had cheated on Miley with Mad Men actress January Jones, 35, at a pre-Oscars party.

While Liam has remained very hush-hush about the goings on about the state of the relationship, Miley has maintained a very public defiance to the split rumours.

She previously dashed claims that the two had called their wedding off and posted pictures of herself on Twitter with her engagement ring firmly on.

A source previously told E! that although Miley and Liam do fight, she wasn’t ready to let him go anytime soon.

The source claimed: “Miley is a fiery character, and they do fight, but she is crazy about Liam. She isn't ready to accept it might be over for good.

"If Miley has her way, the break-up won't last because she's head over heels for Liam and ultimately doesn't want to lose him."
