One Direction Movie: Production Starting In Japan

The cameras are set to start rolling on One Direction's first movie in Tokyo this weekend, the director has revealed.

Speaking at the Variety CES Entertainment Summit in Las Vegas, documentary filmmaker Morgan Spurlock said he is planning to capture footage from the British boy band's world tour in 3D using 4K resolution cameras.

Asked why he chose to take the project, the Super Size Me filmmaker said he was fascinated by the group's rapid rise to fame.

"These guys have gotten so huge in such a short amount of time - why? What makes them more special than any other people?"

He also claimed that he had been unsuccessful in bids to direct both Katy Perry and Justin Bieber's recent movies.
