Emma Watson Discusses Her Writing Aspirations

Emma Watson may have won Favorite Dramatic Movie Actress at Wednesday night's People's Choice Awards for her role in The Perks of Being a Wallflower, but that doesn't mean she is content with a career in front of the cameras.

The British beauty, who has studied English at both Brown and Oxford University, recently talked about the idea of pursuing a writing career. "I would like to adapt something," she told the UK newspaper The Telegraph. "Maybe, eventually, even an original work. I would love to think I could write, but I would feel a bit intimidated. It is definitely something that I'd like to do though."

PARADE asked Watson if her time with Perks director Stephen Chbosky, who also adapted his novel of the same name for the film, influenced her budding aspirations.

"I think Stephen has been inspiring for a lot of writers," Watson said backstage at the awards show.

"I've actually emailed Steve a number of times when writing essays for classes with different questions, which he kindly answered...He definitely inspired me to write."

In the meantime, she has the Sofia Coppola-directed The Bling Ring (based on the real story of a group of fame-obsessed teens who robbed celebrity homes) due later this year and the Darren Aronofsky epic Noah, which is set for a 2014 release.
