Whilst Cannes is normally associated with glitz and glam, Selena Gomez decided to dress down for a speaking event in the French city last night.
The teen star showed up in ripped jeans and a sparkly top to address a room full of media experts at the Cannes Lions 59th International Festival of Creativity. Selena was invited to speak at a special event focusing on the the generation born between 1980 and 2000 (dubbed 'millennials') and their influence on business and creativity.
Selena stuck up for her generation, commenting that “millennials aren’t addicted to social media, they use it to make their lives better." She also spoke about her own experience of sites like Twitter, saying:
“Fans become friends through social media, I want to be as connected to them as they do to me.”
