Miley Cyrus, has already 14 tattoos of various symbols or phrases on her body but yesterday, the 19-year-old was pictured wearing a bandage after leaving a tattoo parlour sparking rumours that she's got herself another inking.
It is believed the star had a more or alterations done to her current roman numeral design on her forearm. After debuting her new tattoo earlier this month the star has left us questioning the symbolism behind the ink.
The tattoo features the numerals VIIXCI, which is translated as the number 96 which has been left unexplained by Miley.
After revealing how she would never get a tattoo without a meaning, the meaning behind the new and improved tatt is intriguing.
The Hannah Montana star said: “It really doesn’t hurt if you’re thinking about the meaning. I could never get a meaningless tattoo, but I think that if you’re doing something that’s important, that’s significant in your life, it takes some of the pain away.”
Her 14 tattoos include, ‘Just Breathe’ along her ribcage, love on her inner ear, a dream catcher design on her right side, an anchor on her wrist, an etching of the Hindu Om symbol on her left wrist, a heart on her right hand, a cross on her ring finger, peace and karma symbols on her fingers, an equals sign on her finger (to represent gay equality), an eye on her finger, a skull on her ankle and the phrase love never dies on her upper left arm.
When discussing the meaning of the phrase ‘Just Breath’ Miley has previously said: "'It reminds me not to take things for granted. I mean breathing – that was something none of them could do, the most basic thing."
Miley’s brother who was there for moral support yesterday with the star, is covered in tattoos. With no skin space left on his arms, let’s just hope Miley is not following in his footsteps.
