Taylor Swift shocked by Houston's death

Taylor Swift hasn't come to the 'full realisation' of Whitney Houston's death.

The iconic singer was pronounced dead in a fourth-floor hotel room on Saturday afternoon, with her passing sending shockwaves across the music industry.

Taylor was preparing for Clive Davis' annual pre-Grammy party when she found out, and says the news completely shook her up.

'I was at home and I was getting ready for the Clive Davis party and as soon as I found out, I just couldn't go out. I was just really sad,' she told Access Hollywood.

'It's shocking and it hasn't sunk in and I don't think any of us have come to the full realisation of what this means.'

Taylor was speaking on the red carpet before the 54th Annual Grammy Awards took place on Sunday. The star was named as the Best Country Song and Best Country Solo Performance ahead of the ceremony, and joked about her mounting trophies.

'It's so exciting. There's already one more category, so who knows. But I'm already happy. There's six of them. Where am I going to put them all!' she laughed.

Taylor wowed in a stunning gold gown. The star made sure the person taking care of her outfit was appreciated.

'That sounds awful,' she exclaimed when the interviewer stated she had a 'handler' for her dress. 'People are helping me out with it because it's a long, involved dress.'
