She owns at least three dogs, including her latest acquisition - an Alaskan klee kai puppy named Floyd.
And looking after hungry animals is clearly a lot of work, as Miley Cyrus discovered on Friday.
The 19-year-old star had a little big of a struggle as she attempted to lug a large bag of dog food across the parking lot after a visit to the pet store.
However, despite her heavy load, the former Disney star looked in good spirits as she chatted to a shop worker on her way to her vehicle.
Along with her sack of food, she carried a plastic bag with toys and treats inside for Floyd, Lila the Yorkshire Terrier and Ziggy the English bulldog.
She looked low key and pretty in a sleeveless grey T-shirt, jeans and black ballet pumps, with her brown hair tied up in a loose bun.
The big animal lover recently tweeted that she was thinking of making Floyd into a star in his own right.
'So ... I'm thinking about getting [my dog] Floyd into modelling,' she wrote earlier this month.
'But I'm scared I'm gonna turn into one of those crazy stage moms.'
After her struggle with the pet food, the star went to a Studio City tattoo parlour to get a new inking, with the words 'love never dies' written on her left bicep.
She posed alongside her tattooist in a snap to show off the inking - her 12th tattoo.
The star already has the words 'Just Breathe' written on her chest, 'Love' in her ear, a dreamcatcher on her side, an anchor on her right wrist, an 'om' symbol on her left wrist, and a skull on her ankle.
On her right hand she has five tiny tattoos on her fingers: an equal sign, a peace symbol, a cross, a heart, and the word 'karma.'
Meanwhile, it has been reported that Selena Gomez has replaced Miley as the voice of Dracula’s teenage daughter Mavis in a new Sony animation Hotel Transylvania.
The production studio would not comment on why Miley was leaving the film, in which Adam Sandler voices the character of Dracula.
However, fans can still see Miley on screen in forthcoming film LOL in which she appears as Demi Moore's 15-year-old rebellious daughter Lola.
