Greyson Chance is just hours away from hitting the stage at Universal CityWalk in Los Angeles for the Rock The Red Kettle concert.
The 14-year-old musician called JJJ up this morning to chat about his excitement for the event, plus what’s coming up on the new album front and more. Check it:
JJJ: How excited are you about the concert tonight?
Greyson Chance: It’s going to be a great show. Cody Simpson and a bunch of other artists are going to perform. It will be me and the piano which will be great because I have been in the studio lately and I am looking forward to performing live. It is also a great concert because it benefits Salvation Army.
JJJ: What can fans expect from your future music?
GC: The music I have been doing lately has been real and worldly. That is the vibe I have been feeling lately.
JJJ: You have worked with some great writers on your music, are you working with people on your new material?
GC: I have worked with so many great writers on my first record and that was really exciting to get under my belt. I did write several of my song son my first record which was exciting. For my new music I am working on I will hopefully write the entire thing this time around.
JJJ: What has your life been like flying all over the place?
GC: I live on an airplane. I just got back from Asia and I’ll be back. It’s very inspirational and so amazing meeting fans all over the world.
JJJ: What were your albums of the year?
GC: [Lady] Gaga’s album was so incredible of course. I also really liked the new Coldplay album and of course Adele’s. I also really like James Blake who I know is really different and unexpected for me to like but I do like all types of music. I also really like Katy Perry’s latest single “The One That Got Away”.
JJJ: Your new music video for “Hold on Til The Night” was done so beautifully. Can you tell us about it?
GC: Thank you! I wanted to do something that could inspire and have a strong message. We took a really artsy approach for this video and I really think it turned out great.
