LOVABLE larrikins Hamish Blake and Andy Lee have pulled singing sensation Taylor Swift to their New York couch for their first Gap Year show tonight.
The pair have also found the perfect home from which to broadcast their show, Hamish and Andy’s Gap Year, back to Australia.
"The cost of New York real estate was a little more than we thought, so we have had to modify our plans just a touch,” Blake said.
“Instead of a studio space around the corner from some great Broadway landmark we’ve had to head off, off Broadway, in fact off Manhattan completely,” Lee added.
The pair have set up shop in the New York borough of Brooklyn where they have managed to convert a plastics factory into a studio space to host their show and audience for 10 weeks.
“We’ve invited Taylor Swift and a couple of other locals to come and visit us on the first show, so hopefully they can find us in Brooklyn,” Lee said.
“We’ve also got some adventures we filmed on the road and a bit of hidden camera fun we’ve had in New York,” Blake said.
The studio audience will be made up of Aussie expats and holidaymakers, and for the first episode a planeload of competition winners will join them.
Hamish and Andy are also still broadcasting their radio show bleary-eyed in the middle of the night from New York to air live Friday afternoons around Australia on Austereo’s Today Network.
Hamish and Andy’s Gap Year airs tonight on nine at 8:30pm.
