Jonas Brothers Struggling With Poor Ticket Sales

Total ticket sales for big arena tours in North America have dropped to their lowest level since 2005. So far this year, combined ticket sales for big concerts like AC/DC, Taylor Swift, Lady GaGa and the Jonas Brothers have plunged to a five year low. The top tours in North America earned almost a billion dollars in the first six months of 2010, a massive 17% drop since last year.

The Jonas Brothers have been particularly hard hit by the drop in ticket sales. While some bands like Christina Aguilera and Limp Bizkit would like to blame the drop in ticket sales on the poor economy, superstars like Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber and Lady GaGa have had no problem packing arenas.

But the Jonas Brothers haven't fared as well. Fortunately they haven't had to cancel their tour altogether like some other big acts, but they have been reporting disappointing ticket sales. Are fans ditching the boy band for their new favorite JB, Justin Bieber? Maybe insane ticket prices and out of control extra charges have convinced some teens and parents to save their money. The year isn't over yet, and the Jonas Brothers have added more shows. Ticket sales might pick up by the end of 2010, but that might depend more on the economy than the quality of the music.

Who will you be seeing in concert this summer?
