Selena Gomez and producer Aaron Kaplan have teamed to develop an untitled series, described as a Latina Empire series, with Freeform.
Deadline reports that the series will focus on a “low income Latino neighborhood and is told through the eyes of an 18-year-old girl destined for greatness.”
Los Angeles high school senior Ana Cobarrubias will also consult on the project. Ana was a speaker at last year’s Zimmer Children’s Museum Discovery Award Dinner and got a standing ovation after her speech about overcoming obstacles in her east Los Angeles neighborhood.
Selena‘s mom Mandy Teefey is also involved in the project.
