When a not-so-flattering pic of Demi surfaced online recently, a ridiculous conspiracy theory was floated and, before you knew it, an entire storyline about a long lost secret Demi twin, who had been locked in a basement, started making the rounds.
Demi took to Twitter to write (and later delete): "Cool to see a sh**ty angle turn into a meme that circulates the Internet to people's amusement ha. Oh and make actual 'headlines.'" Yeah, she wasn't impressed, guys.

The Poot meme kicked off with Tumblr user Cstcrpt, who captioned the photo: "Demi's twin sister. She was locked in a basement her whole life. This picture was taken the first time she went outside. Her name is Poot."Totes weird, right?
A Twitter user called @OfficialPoot added to the storyline and someone even posted a story to Wattpad titled 'The Secret Life of Poot Lovato.' The whole thing also launched oh-so-many memes and even a Wikipedia page (that's since been deleted).
