Taylor Swift Makes Forbes' Most Powerful Women List for First Time Ever

Taylor Swift during the Who runs the world? Girls! Need proof? Our BFF-in-our-heads Taylor Swift just landed a spot on Forbes' Most Powerful Women list for the first time ever. Holler!

With five platinum albums in nine years, and seven Grammys under her belt, no wonder Taylor's on the list this year, right? But what's differed lately to make her the queen, compared to all those other T-Swift-filled days years ago?

Well, it seems like ever since Tay Tay has ditched her fairytale stories and became more "herself" she's boomed like no other. Her new embrace of feminism this year seemed to throw her to the top of everyone's need-to-be-friends-with-her or need-to-be-just-like-her lists. She proved that it's cool to group together as girls than to go against each other. After all, what's better than girls ganging up to own this place together? That's what Taylor is all about now. Who could be a better leader for us? Probably no one. THAT's why she's on that list this year.

Not to mention, Taylor has basically perfected every part of being a pop star. She's quite the businesswoman, too. Her 1989 album was the highest-selling album in the U.S. in 2014, with over 7.5 million copies sold worldwide.

She shut down online streaming service Spotify when that album dropped, and even trademarked her own lyrics. Last Sunday, she broke YouTube records with the release of her star-studded music video for current single "Bad Blood." She even had her own emoji just for that video reveal...need anymore proof she's made it?

Check out which other ladies made the legendary list, here.
