Demi Lovato Dedicates Song to Bruce Jenner During New Zealand Concert

Demi Lovato = ❤️

On Saturday night, during her concert in New Zealand, Demi dedicated "Warrior" to Bruce Jenner. The night before, the former Olympian's powerful interview with Diane Sawyer aired and he had just revealed that he is undergoing a gender transition.

Diane pointed out at the very beginning of the special that there is a clear generational divide between HOW we know Bruce Jenner - some remember watching him become an Olympic hero when he set the world record in the decathlon during the 1976 games, while others know him as the loving dad on Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

Demi admitted that she's in the latter group. "An American hero, an Olympian...he was already an American hero in my country because of that," she told the audience. "To be honest, I didn't know who he was until Keeping Up With the Kardashians...Let's be honest, neither did you."

And then things took a serious turn and we can't imagine there was a dry eye in the room after she delivered the second part of her message. "But I just want to dedicate this song...and it's so cheesy that I'm even doing this, but whatever. I want to dedicate it to someone who became an even bigger hero last night...Bruce Jenner!"

👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

"By the way, never thought I'd ever dedicate a song to him," she admitted. "But he was honest and he was open with his story and no matter if you agree with it or not, he probably saved so many lives and educated so many people [about] transitioning into being a woman and transgender and what that's all about. So, yeah, I just want to dedicate it to Bruce Jenner."

Editor's Note: Per Jenner's stated preference, Cambio will continue to refer to Bruce using male pronouns until he indicates otherwise.
