Disney has just confirmed that there will be a live-action version of their hit cartoon Mulan , THR reports.
The company bought the script from writers Elizabeth Martin and Lauren Hynek, who based the writings off of Hua Mulan, the subject of Disney’s 1998 film.
Mulan follows a young woman who disguises herself as a man so she can take her father’s place in the army and go to war. With the help of her trusty dragon sidekick Mushu, she becomes a skilled warrior and, eventually, one of the country’s greatest heroines.
Disney has also made a live action Cinderella, starring Lily James , and a live action Beauty & the Beast, starring Emma Watson , is in the works.
