It turns out Demi Lovato hasn't been a huge fan of all of the music she's made in the past - and is striving to change that for her next album.
Demi's hard at work on her fifth album, explaining to ETonline: "This year, it's super important to me that I embrace who I am as an artist and to become more authentic to who I am."
She added, "I want to release music that is different, that I've never done before...and that showcases what I can do vocally. I'm excited to explore with different sounds which is what I'm doing in the studio right now."
Meanwhile, in a new interview with Cosmopolitan , Demi admitted that she hasn't been "totally true" to herself about her music and sound, explaining, "I had a couple of moments this past year where I haven't been totally true to myself when it comes to making music. I've made music that I love and that I'm proud of, but I haven't been totally authentic to who I am, and before I was kind of wanting radio hits."
Demi added that, while hits are important, she's looking to be more real with this next album, saying, "I wanted to create a body of work that represents who I am as an artist and is less about trying to please other people."
