According to the Associated Press , angry teenagers who couldn't see Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele also rushed the mall's food court in protest. Luckily, no one was injured in the Fifty Shades-inspired frenzy. Now, West Oak Mall officials have announced all teens must be accompanied by an adult after 9 p.m. whether they're seeing a movie or not.
Even without the 100 fans who weren't able to see the movie based on EL James' best-selling S&M trilogy, Fifty Shades raked in the dough this weekend. It made $81.7 million opening weekend and set a record for the highest grossing movie on Presidents' Day weekend.
If you're under 17, you're supposed to be escorted by an adult for R-rated movies, so maybe young Fifty fans should ask an older sister or brother to take them instead of mom and dad? Just sayin'.
