Charli XCX Gives Taylor Swift's "Shake It Off" a Punk Twist

Ever wonder what Taylor Swift would sound like if she went punk? Well, now thanks to British singer Charli XCX we get the chance to hear just that. She just covered T-Swift's "Shake It Off" adding her own grunge, emo spin. We dig.



Charli's band changed Taylor's original bubble gum sound to a more serious one, by adding bass and an extra guitar riff. It's definitely cool to listen to if you just aren't into the pop-ness of Taylor's tune but appreciate her lyrics.



We're surprised Charli covered Tay's song. You know, she IS opening up for T-Swift's enemy Katy Perry on her upcoming Prism tour.



Taylor recently showed Charli some love, though. She added her song onto a list of awesome breakup songs for a sad fan to listen to.
