He sort of became a little bit of a celebrity, with the 1D fandom retweeting his gushy tweet about the band's performance. As if that wasn't cool enough, he recently nabbed the attention of Harry Styles, who sent the guy a DM for a lamp order!
Jerry Riekert had tweeted at the time of the AMAs: "I'm not a fan of One Direction being a 50 year old man and all but they can actually sing." He followed it up, writing: "how did the one direction fans find me I'm just a simple man from New York who makes lamps."
After all the attention, Jerry set out to make a One Direction inspired lamp, sharing a pic of his creation on Twitter.
Yesterday, he shared a pretty special DM he received from Harry - as luck would have it, the 1D star is in the market for one of this guy's lamps! How serendipitous.
Harry wrote: "Hello sir. Do you have contact details? I'd love to buy a lamp from you. It's a lovely thing you've done for our fans. Thank you. H."
Hey, you never know where a tweet will carry you. In this guy's case, we're pretty sure he never imagined a young fandom would help his business get some celebrity attention. Pretty cool.
